It Ain’t Easy Being Green: The ACGLA CleanTech Panel
Acclimating to a Changing Environment of Efficiency through Clean Technology
The cleantech industry has come a long way in the past ten years, and demand for the solutions it seeks to provide – renewable energy, cleaner emissions, improved efficiency – is steadily growing. Mounting pressures from policymakers and the broader public are laying the groundwork for an industry with a high potential both for growth and, appropriately, for sustainability.
For investors, entrepeneurs and dealmakers, bigger questions about cleantech remain. The industry is highly segmented, so which technologies will ultimately emerge and which will fall into the dustbin of history? Is this the right time, given the current economic conditions and the state of the industry, to enter the space? How are start-up cleantech companies raising capital, and how are these companies dealing with competition from established companies and from other upstarts?
Join us on Wednesday, October 21, as veteran venture capital investor Tom Toy moderates a panel discussion focused on the challenges and opportunities in today’s cleantech landscape. The discussion will cover the relative health of the cleantech industry and its subsectors, the funding environment, the outlook for entrepreneurial startups and regulatory and tax policy implications.
